How do I run Sims 3 pc game on windows 7

Can some tell me how to rum simms 3 for the pc on vista and xp on my windows 7 as i have bought an external re writer for my notebook which has windows 7 and it will not run as it says it needs vista or xp
any help greatfully received

If you're saying that the game won't run then use the "Compatibility Mode". Right Click on the executable, go to Properties, then the Compatibility Tab. Select Run As in either Vista or XP mode. It should work then.

been there tried that. i was unable to get the Sims3 running on the wife's PC after i promised it would work when i upgraded her to Win7 Ultimate.

She forced me to reinstall Vista

I'm having a similar problem with Win7 compatability mode :-(
