I'm trying to send a batch of pictures from my photos (stored in a file in My Pictures folder) in an email but they just disappear when I click on the 'send in email' in Windows 7 Outlook. I have no idea where they go, and can't find them. In previous Windows versions Outlook would automatically resize for email sending as attachments. Windows 7 doesn't seem to have this facility or I'm not doing something correctly. Can anyone help please?

Old versions of Windows had a product called Outlook Express - this is not included with Windows 7 because they have moved to internet-based mail, currently called Windows Live Mail.

Microsoft Office does include a product called Outlook to do email (Office Retail about US$300). Or a stand-alone version of Outlook is available (Retail US$99). Outlook Express was a stripped down version of this but as I said is no longer provided.

So do you own Microsoft Office/Microsoft Outlook? If so what version (2003, 2007, 2010)? Because there is not a product called Windows 7 Outlook.

Assuming you are using Microsoft Outlook, whih version?
Quopte "Windows 7 doesn't seem to have this facility "
Windows 7 does not have MS Outlook as a built in facility, so it is not a problem with the OS. (neither does it have OE)
Are the Emails not appearing in the sent or drafts box?

Fwiw, maybe not relevant to your enquiry, but Windows Live Mail is a stand alone desktop program, although there is the facility to use it as a web program. It is free. Its layout is very similar to Outlook.

Dave, does WLM actually download the mail to the harddrive? I guess my impression was that it was still maintained on the internet so it could be accessed from anywhere, but I personally don't use it.

And I guess back on topic, does WLM open automatically when, in Windows Explorer, you right-click and "send as an attachment"?

Yes. Totally free standing.
The other. It is under "send to" and in the drop down is Email recipient. When you click that, Live Mail opens with the attachment in place.
