The Ribbon no longer appears on my Desktop and I would like to get it back, especially for the Help Button.

Yes, more information please. Are you referring to the taskbar (if so does it appear when you approach the edges of your screen)? Or Are you talking about the Microsoft Ribbon in Microsoft Office 2010 Applications like Word, Excel, etc? Or something else?

I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I posted on Windows7Forums and thought this would be sufficient note of operating system, sorry. I am new to Windows 7, it came preloaded on a new Dell PC and I recall a review of this operating system referring to a Ribbon, a new feature. There were 8 or so large icons, the Help button released 6 more icons, 1 for Dell's online assistance, another for Add/Remove software amongst other options, these seemed to be for frequently performed actions in 1 convenient place. After opening and closing down 30 or so times the feature has ceased to appear and I can't identify it in "All Programs" or Control Panel.

From what I understand, I think this is a custom Dell feature as Windows 7 doesn't come with anything like this by default.

Do you have anything in the system tray (bottom right corner) that looks like a Dell icon, as that may have some options to bring this bit of software back.

If anyone here has a new Dell PC, they may be able to advise further .

This must be a relatively new machine then, so it should be under warranty. I would suggest you just give Dell support a call since it appears to be their ribbon application and I'm sure they could help.

As for needing to know which version, the reason we ask is because there are 6 different versions (Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise) and the last 4 come in 32 or 64 bit versions. There are also foreign versions for most of these with the additional designation of N, K, KN, and E.
