I have done all that everyone everywhere seems to think would fix this issue.
My Dell 964 printer will not print after installing W 7 x64.
I tried compatibility mode to Vista service pack 2, tried unplugging, deleting and reinstalling drivers, it just will not take.
I am at a loss here and why can't this just be a simple fix??
Everything else seemed to adapt itself from the upgrade from V x64 to W7 x64.
Sure a few glitches, but all updated fine.
Any ideas??

More than likely, Windows 7 just doesn't have drivers for your printer. My printer does not work on 7, either, so I use XPM to do my printing.

Not all OS upgrades are smooth, I'm afraid.

You might want to check Dell's website for 7 drivers as they just released a whole crapload of them.

Hi waxace - Welcome to the site

I didn't see any Windows Vista 64 bit or Windows 7 32/64bit drivers for this printer. After going through the Windows 7 Support link. I was directed back to the very same page.

Well I did finally get a solution to the issue.
I had to find the 64 bit drivers for the printer for Vista, and then it would install the All in one center and run the printer perfectly.
Before that I had to download a update from Dell that removed all the Dell crap as to clearly install the drivers and software.
It is explained if you read the articles and verified answers on Dell's forums
site here: http://en.community.dell.com/forums/t/19274021.aspx

The 64 bit working driver for Win 7 is R146813
I am sure it will work for quite a few Dell Printers

Thanks folks for all you help as this was driving me nuts!
