Thank you Altinkumhomes, I was terribly annoyed by this problem. Your solution seems to have cured it once and for all.

Just a note which could help others, one step is missing in your path to "instance": Wow6432Node. The complete path is:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{BDEADE7F-C265-11D0-BCED-00A0C90AB50F}\Instance]

Just out of curiosity, how in the world did you stumble on this? And what a messy system Windows is and always has been, to hide solutions in such a jungle.

Thank you again.

You are very welcome
I could be wrong but I think Wow6432Node is something that is for 64-bit Windows 7 only? Anyway mine is 32-bit and the complete path for my machine is:

Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{BDEADE7F-C265-11D0-BCED -00A0C90AB50F}\Instance

To answer your question, I found it on another forum, and was actually trying to get back to it to thank the poster but couldn't remember which one I'd seen it on. I came to this forum to see if it was here, and when it wasn't I thought I should post it on this thread myself while I was here.
Unfortunately I never did find the original posting to say thank you myself.

Right, my version of Windows 7 is 64-bits. Now I am just waiting for a friend to tell me he has this problem, so I can amaze him with my knowledge.
All the best.

Open Windows Explorer. Do right-click-New-Folder. The new folder doesn't
appear in the window unless F5 (refresh) key is pressed. Same with deleting
a file or folder.
It's a well documented "feature" of Windows 7. Unfortunately I can't find
(and neither can quite a few others AFAICS) a solution to it...
I just did a fresh install of Win7 Enterprise SP1 x64 on to an SSD and noticed this was happening as I went through my usual houskeeping routine. I also noticed Explorer immediately started auto-refreshing after de-selecting "Use Sharing Wizard" in Folder View Options.

Hope this helps...

Hello Nexus7, I had forgotten I had written in this forum, the problem originally cured by the registry fix had returned, even worse than before, as even F5 did not always immediately refresh. I sometimes had to close and reopen Explorer to see the implementation of the change or deletion. Now I just disabled "Use Sharing Wizard" and it seems to work. Thank you. I hope it sticks.

Yeah, this has been driving me nuts for quite a while now. It is frustrating to create a new folder, then click to enter is, and it is "not there". If you press F5, then you can see it, but for save dialog boxes, this is a real pain in the nuts.

De-select "Use Sharing Wizard" in Folder View Options.

Char Jackson -

If you are still monitoring this thread, how did you "completely disable the library feature?" Since the problem is related to the library view of the folder, I always go "directly" to the folder, not via the library. However, I often right-click on Explorer in the Task Bar to use the frequent folders llist. Even though I have not visited those folders via the library, (and have cleaned out the history here many times), selecting the folder that way opens in library view anyway. Do you know how I can avoid having libraries show up permanently?

Thanks!
