Comparisons of Windows O/S

Stumbled across this page. Bit old now but might be of interest to some.
Considering he had 8gig of ram and was comparing 64bit O/S against 32bit I thought the old XP did pretty well for itself.

You have to take it for what it's worth: A review done before Windows 7 RTM drivers were even made or before RTM was even compiled.

Every benchmark review I've ever seen that was properly done had 7 way ahead of all the rest.

That was published in September of last year but the testing was much, much earlier, based on this statement:

"With the release of Windows 7 just around the corner"

I am yet to see any benchmarks that have in any way resembled my own experiences. In fact, I don't really see the point of these benchmarks beyond the entertainment value. Once you take an old, wheezing OS like XP and pile stuff on it to bring its functionality, security, and intuitiveness within 7's reach, any supposed performance advantages are long gone.
