clock stops on screen saver

With windows bubbles screen saver on and using windows 7 ultimate I notice the clock stops until I move my mouse. Is that normal or anything I can do?

For example a firewall scan will stop when screen saver goes on. Thanks

Bubbles is a transparent screen saver. What is behind it is visible but frozen in time,
a snapshot that was taken when the screen saver started.
Everything is still normal in the background but you can't see it. That's how Bubbles works.

Shouldn't you be able to have the screen saver running and still have for example your firewall virus scan running.

Yes everything is running even the virus scan, you just can't see it because the screen is frozen except for the Bubbles.

What makes you believe the virus scan is not running?
