I've noticed for the past couple of days that chrome has started crashing about 3 or 4 times a day. Chrome comes up with this pop up saying chrome has crashed and needs to be restarted. I was using Chrome 7..x.x.x....the latest version...no beta. I have not installed/uninstalled any software lately. I bugged me so much I just finally uninstalled it and now I'm using FF. Anyone else having issues w/chrome?

Chrome has been ok for me recently, although I don't use it as my main browser. I wonder if something in the latest auto-update has started causing these issues for you.

Do you get any error messages or notifications in Event Viewer with more details about the crash?

Also, to rule out exteneions, can you see if Google Chrome Safe Mode has any effect?

As I said you to you on skype Jim, try the dev mode again.. I've been using the dev mode (now up to Chrome 9.0..587.0) for simply ages and it always seems very stable.
Why you should be getting crashes though is a bit concerning and I just wonder if a bit of malware has crept into your system? Have you tried running something like Malwarebytes alongside MSE just to check?
