I am trying to install Office 2003 in Windows 7 Starter. The computer is a netbook. I have copied the Office 2003 install disk to USB Memory Stick. When I attempt to install on netbook, it allows me to go as far as entering my product key and then I receive the error message saying install device is corrupted.

Anyone been successful in installing under the above parameters?

Thanks.......Fraz

It sounds like the data on your thumb drive is damaged.

The same thumbdrive with 2003 Office files installs just fine on Windows XP.

Try right-clicking on the install exe file and set compatibility to WinXP SP3 and also set "Run as an administrator", then run it.

Instead of installing from the USB thumb drive, just Copy & Paste the install files and then when you're done just delete them.

Try that and see if it works for you.

According to the Windows compatibility center, there are known issues in 32 & 64-bit if your 2003 version is the Student and Teacher version; if that is the case they recommend you upgrade.
