I am new to Win 7 Home Edition and am at a loss to locate where
Windows Explorer is and how one accesses it. I wouold like to put it
in Start where I can locate it when needed.

Is there a way to set it up similar to the way Win XP configures it?

TIA,

Mary

- Click on the Start Orb and type "explorer" into the search box.

- Find "Computer" on the right side of the Start Menu. That's Explorer.

- Use "Personalize" to display the "My Computer" icon on the desktop.

There are many ways to skin this cat.

Several points:

1. You probably have an icon for "Computer" on your desktop.
"Computer" *is* Windows Explorer; it's just a particular view of it,
and you can navigate from there to any other view you want.

2. If you want the Windows Explorer called "Windows Explorer," click
the Start Orb and type Windows Explorer, then press Enter.

3. After typing Windows Explorer, instead of pressing enter, you can
right-click it at the top and choose "Pin to Task bar." It will then
be available whenever you want it

Click on the Start Orb, All Programs, Accessories.
You will find it there under Accessories.

Hi, Mary.

In addition to all those other tips, I like to right-click on Explorer.exe
and choose to Pin to Taskbar. Then it is always just one click away. (I
also pin it to the Start menu and Show on desktop; it's such a handy and
often-used tool that I want it always available quickly.)

same thing!

Hi, Ken.

Oops! I misread your post as "pin to the Start menu". Gotta clean my
contact lenses. Sorry 'bout that.
