Hi zigzag,
Nothing as far as I know. I have 3 printers with mains, netgear router and d-link switch with their own power. IPad/iPod cable, not connected to anything when problems occurred. Microsoft cordless keyboard and mouse. Internal is Crucial 128gb SSD for boot. WD 1tb for programs and backup. Internal hot swap caddy with WD 1tb for more backup. Sweex card reader.
Because of the malfunction showing up with an unknown USB device I have left all 3 internal USB plugs disconnected. Two are for the front panel USB's and one is for the Sweex internal card reader. This USB error only showed up after repeated BSOD's.
Touch wood, but it has been running for eight hours now without a crash.
I did remove and replace the internal battery and pressed the CMOS clear button, would I have lost my over clocking settings by doing this?
Another point, because the dumps only occurred when using the DVD writer for reading discs I replaced it with the Blu ray reader in case the drive was causing the problem. It did actually take about three to four hours to give me the first crash on Saturday. Could it be heat related? At the moment the side cover is still off.
Regards
Graham
Edit. Power supply is a Corsair 650w. Graphics card is a Radeon 5770
Something else the computer had always done on boot up until I managed to turn it off in the set up menu was that one of the Gigabyte utilities always wanted to make changes to my SSD drive. Didn't seem to make any difference whether I selected yes or no. Turned this off ages ago.
