Hello there,

I'm currently having some issues booting up Windows. Last night, I was going to try to add a new device over Bluetooth, but I didn't know whether or not the desktop itself has Bluetooth or not. So, just to try it out, I went to "Devices and Printers" and clicked "Add new device," at which point the "Add new device" dialog box appeared and a few seconds later the BSOD came up. Everytime I restart it and attempt to boot Windows normally, it shows the BSOD right around the point where the music starts playing (it's where it says "Welcome" before the login screen). Safe mode works (I haven't tried Safe Mode with Networking or Safe Mode with Command Prompt yet).

Here are the details of the BSOD itself:
(Generic BSOD text)

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

(Generic BSOD text)

Technical information:
*** STOP: 0x00000001 (0x0000000000000010, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFF88001722506)
*** ndis.sys - Address FFFFF88001722506 base at FFFFF880016F4000, DateStamp 4a5bc184

And here's what the dialog box in Safe Mode told me:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: d1
BCP1: 0000000000000010
BCP2: 0000000000000002
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: FFFFF880017225D6
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\011612-21949-01.dmp
C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-37923-0.sysdata.xml

What should I do?

Thanks in advance!

Related to athrx.sys Extensible Wireless LAN device driver from Atheros Communications, Inc. Yours from early 2009. Please re-install newest version.

Also you need to update to SP-1

Please run the update readiness tool and then update to SP-1

Ensure you install the correct 64 or 32 bit option for your system)
Download the System Update Readiness Tool (64bit)
Download the System Update Readiness Tool (32bit)
