1: Clean install by booting from Windows 7 dvd or did you insert the Windows 7 dvd while Windows was running ? Did you install all your drivers and then run Windows Experience Index, so Windows could figure your ssd is in fact a ssd. Thus enabling Trim and enabled disabling unnecessary feautures that the ssd doesn't need. For example Disk Defragmenter is unnecessary for a ssd, but sill needed for mechanical hard drives. More than like you need to install chipset, lan and video card drivers. Don't get those from Microsoft, get them from the component maker's website. If they don't have any Windows 7 driver's, get the Windows Vista driver's. The right-click Computer, Properties. Then click Windows Experience Index . Now click rate this pc or re-run the assesment.

it was a clean install boot from win 7 disc, the computer never had an OS on it until now

I got the MB manufacturer's CD and used their drivers off that CD to install drivers, the video card drivers I got from the nvidia site

Don't ever use the Manufacturer's driver's from the cd. By the time you bought and recieved those parts the driver's are usually outdated. Go to the manufacturer's website and download the current driver's. Do yourself a favor and make a Drivers folder inside the Downloads folder. In the drivers folder make folders for each hardware device. While you're at the motherboard manufacturer's website also check and see if they have any bios updates for your motherboard. If they have one get it also. Also go to the manufacturer of your ram's website and look for your ram. Copy the manufacturer's timings for your ram and double-check the ram settings in your bios. If the bios's ram settings don't match what you got from the website, change it to make it match, press F10 so the bios saves it and reboot your pc.

When installing Windows 7 to an SSD, it knows automatically that it's being installed to an SSD. Running the WEI, or Windows Experience Index is totally superfluous to how the system operates. As a matter of fact, the WEI has NO EFFECT on how the operating system functions. It's just there for those who want some type of "barometer" to judge their system versus someone else's.

After installation, only a few items need to be "tweaked", so to speak to get the SSD tuned properly. Prior to installation, ensure that your BIOS is set to AHCI for the SSD

I recommend using SSDTweaker from http://elpamsoft.com/Downloads.aspx The free version works very well, unless you want to experiment with the TRIM settings.

You DO HAVE TO DISABLE the Windows 7 Defragmenter Scheduler though.

NOTE: Apparently I don't see an SSD drive listed in your hardware spec's above. I was going by what brkkab123 was stating. All I see is the 500GB hard drive listed.
OH and by the way... adding another 8 GB of RAM will NOT improve your system's speed, responsiveness or whatever. It will just empty your pocketbook and that's all. UNLESS you do VERY INTENSIVE CAD design and processing or
VERY INTENSIVE Photo / Video transcoding or processing.

Daemon tools is notorious for causing blue screens in W7. Uninstall it and then remove the sptd driver it installs that will not be uninstalled during the process.
