I did a clan install of W 7 64 bit from 32 bit and it works well apart from boot up. The OS is definitely on c drive and there is a file for old windows. However there are three program files, one for windows 7, one entitled program files (x86) and another program files (x86) (x86). When I boot up I am asked to choose W 7 orVvista but both options load W 7 . Can anyone advise me if I should re-install W 7 or not please ?

I would reinstall. If you have all of your data from your previous Windows (XP or Vista) then make sure to format the drive. There should be an option to do so after booting from the Windows 7 disc.

Before going the re-install route, you may want to check out a program called Easy BCD. Once installed it may give you the option of removing that Vista boot selection. If not, then, yes, I'd go for reinstall.
