I had a crash and had to reinstall. When I boot I now get the following: Floppy disk(s) fail (40). I have gone to the BIOS and it is not checked to load. I checked the bcdedit and drive D shows on the menu, my os is on drive C. Is that my problem?

Your BIOS may be set with a boot order that includes a floppy drive. These are the old 3.5" drives usually assigned to A:, drive D: is likely your DVD/CD-ROM which should be in the boot order.
