I have a Dell Studio XPS 9100 computer with Windows 7 Prof, SP1.

After installing SP1, a BitLocker error began to appear in the event viewer.
I have not used or accessed BitLocker on my computer. The following
appears in the event viewer: Event ID: 24620; Locate ID: 1033; Event
Source - Microsoft Windows BitLocker Driver; Encrypted Volume Check: Volume
Information on \\?\Volume ID3353cee-e448-11df- --etc.

I tried to find out how to turn on and off the BitLocker program but no
luck. I checked the control panel listings but did not see anything
referencing BitLocker. I also checked Start/All Programs but did not find
anything related to BitLocker. I even used Windows 7 Help and Support. I
did find the listing to Turn On and Turn Off BitLocker, but the highlighted
entries did not work when clicking on them.

I would very much appreciate any help in resolving the event viewer error
problem for BitLocker. Thanks, Sam.

BitLocker is only supposed to be available with
Windows 7 Ultimate or Enterprise editions.
That's why the links in the Help & Support don't
work and why there is no Control Panel icon for
BitLocker on your Windows 7 Professional.
I've no idea why you're getting those errors.
Has Ultimate or Enterprise been on the machine
at anytime in the past ?
