How to Shrink the Partition

Once you have an unallocated partition...

Format and Name the Partition

Volume name is limited to 11 characters

I now have 2 partitions. How do I move my programs from the (C) drive to the new partition I created (G). Is it by simply moving the 'Programs File' folder from one drive to the other? Just a grag and drop? then delete from the C drive?

Or should I not bother, just leave the OS and my programs on the C drive and use the new partition for my documents, pics, music, etc...?

Any recomendations?

Thanks guys

I would highly recommend against moving the programs to another partition. Unless you really KNOW what you're doing, your programs won't work properly.

Some "uber geeks" do this when installing the program software but I have always avoided it since it's really not necessary and as long as you have plenty of hard drive space.

I use the extra partition for downloads, photos, audio files, video files, docs, etc.

Thanks Nibs, that's what I'll do.
