[SOLVED] Auto Update, ReportingEvents Log Query

Just a curiosity.

I have Windows Updates set to "Never Download, Never Inform, Go Away, I'll Ask You When I'm Good And Ready" mode.

But looking at my ReportingEvents Log file I find these entries for the 22nd

Now, I know I didn't check for updates at all that day. So, if I've disabled Auto Updates until I manually check, why is it auto checking anyway??

As I say, just curious....

BTW If I'm not quick responding to this, it's because I've been picked up and whisked away for the Xmas Hols (I'm Santas little helper really!!).

Elmer are you using MSE ? If you are, that's why it's automatically installing updates. It's been posted various places on the internet that MSE 2.0 set's Windows/Microsoft to the Automatic mode, not the mode user's setup.
