Hello

I've upgraded the OS to win 7 couple of days back. Everything works fine, but the audio driver doesn't work at all. My pc specs are as follows:

AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+ 2.20 GHz
RAM 1.5 GB

I found some audio drivers for windows, but i was confused cause of the "Socket" thing. Kindly help me with the driver thingy.. I'll be grateful.

Thanks

Hi umarali89! Welcome to the site!

First of all, your processor has nothing to do with your sound driver. It's your sound chipset on the motherboard or PCI card that deals with that.

What brand is your computer? What model is it? Is it store bought or custom-made? If it is custom-built, what brand and model is the motherboard?

Use a great little program called S.I.W. its free for home use and will give you ALL the info you need about your computer.

Go here to download it: http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.html

Download the "Freeware Version" SIW Standalone (English Only)

We need more information please.

It uses a Realtek ALC858 sound chip. Uses the AC '97 Sound Codec.

Go here for the driver from Realtek:
