Greetings,

I wonder if anyone out there has figured out a way to 'duplicate' a user account so that I can save it under a different name/title so that it has the same desktop settings etc except that I want to change the user privileges/account type ???

Many thanks

What exactly needs to be the same? Folders like Local Settings, SendTo, Desktop, Start Menu I think can be done with Default User or Admin.

I've never done it but it might be worth a test for you to try ...
Take Ownership of \Users\Default User
Backup the existing file structure
Then, from a newly created account that you have set up as a template, copy any of these folders that aren't empty: the Appdata, desktop, favorites, links, Local Settings, nethood, printhood, SendTo, StartMenu, and Templates
Now create a new user and I think it should get a copy of all these files/folders

For administrators I believe it is \Users\Admin that gets copied.

Other things like network access, registry settings, etc, I don't know.
