Another stupid error when trying to delete a folder

The folder is empty except for the thumbnail. I have no idea why it
would be open or how to close it or why Windoze wants to save it.

You are probably displaying the thumbnail when you select the folder.
Instead, set Explorer up with the tree on the left, folder contents on
the right. Navigate to any other folder, so its contents display on the
right. Now, right-click (not left-click) on the folder you want to
delete, and choose 'Delete' from the context menu.

It's spelled "Windows", not "Windoze."

I guess I really should quit spelling it that way when I am mad. It
is surprising how often I get corrected.

You shouldn't be surprised. People started using the insult decades ago
when Windows had the reputation of being slow (which in never really
was, anyway.) Nowadays the term has no meaning at all, and it just
makes the people who use it look stuck in another time and petulant.

I hope my suggestion solves your problem. Sometimes a document
(including thumbnails) can be open in a program that's not obvious to
you. Sometimes that program can be your virus scanner, which wouldn't
be Windows' "fault," either.

I figure people who use "Windoz" and "Micro$oft" or "M$" should use
Linux and stop bothering me.

It's also surprising how many people spell it that way and how boring
it is to see it yet one more time. Beyond that, it tends to make me
infer something about the poster's attitude...
