Hi all!
With Windows XP, I used to have different pointers, one of which was a hand.
I did a search on Internet, but finding this simple hand isn't evident.
There are all types of schemes, but I'm not confident in some of these
freebies.
Is there a way of adding new pointer schemes in Win7, 64 bits, and be sure
they will work properly,please?
Thanks,
Marcel

Try looking under Ease of Access in your Win7 system

Have a look in Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Mouse > Pointers.
Whether they work OK or how you change them, I don't know.

Thanks Lou!
I tied but the only thing it changes is size / colour, etc.
I would like to add a few more (different) pointers such as the hand one I
had in Win XP

Search Google for "mouse pointer collections". You will get over 600,000
listings. Take your pick, wisely.

Just copy the cursor files from your XP Windows\Cursors folder to your
W7 Windows\Cursors folder.

Right you are, Lu!
I Googgled for those pointers, but it seems there is more trash in there
than anything else.
I guess the wise thing is to stick to what Win 7 offers [BG]

That's the first thing I did. They don't appear in the scheme window, nor in
the choice of cursors...

Sorry, let me rectify that.
They do appear, but I have to choose them one by one, and I'm not quite sure
which is which sometimes. For instance, I can choose a new cursor for
"Normal select" but I'm not sure which one would apply.

"Don't like your mouse pointer? Why not change all your mouse cursors en
masse by selecting a different colour scheme?

Open Mouse Pointers from the Personalization Control Panel and pick a new
scheme from the drop down list. If that is too drastic, you can also change
individual pointers - select the unwanted cursor and click Browse to pick
another, If you want to download new pointers from the web, try
(www.goldfiles.com/cat.php?catid=31) make sure they are in CUR or ANI
format. Don't forget to save your customisations as a new scheme."
