Tools | Options | General | Play sound when new message arrives.

There's no such thing as "Outlook Express Windows Mail."

There's no such thing as "Outlook Express Windows Mail."

You're however there are Outlook Express (in win XP,
and Window Mail (in Vista). My apology for that
missing coma...-))

BTW - you're talking about;
"Tools | Options | General | Play sound when new message arrives."
WHERE ?
My Win Live Mail has working / "Playing sound when new message arrives"
The problem I have is: "How to add a sound (Happy Birthday, for example)
to a birthday wishes ?

It might as well had been called that. ;-)

Just to avoid misunderstanding;

You're right, however there are 1) Outlook Express (in win XP,
and 2) Window Mail (in Vista). My apology for that
missing coma in my first posting ...-))

BTW - you're talking about;
"Tools | Options | General | Play sound when new message arrives."
WHERE ? In Windows Live Mail (in Windows 7)?

My Win Live Mail (in Win 7)works fine and has
working / "Playing sound when new message arrives"

The problem I have is:
"How to add a sound (Happy Birthday, for example)
to a birthday wishes when I'm sending them,
using Windows Live Mail , (in Windows 7) ?

My understanding is that you have to save the message as a file. Then
edit it with a text editor and add the HTML code for playing the sound.
Then open it in WLM and email it out.

If you can't help, please don't try to hurt ....

So, WLMail hasn't got that what the Windows Mail has and the Outlook
Express.
Frankly, your explanation is a bit larger than my missing coma was...-
I'd noticed that had you put it in first place.

The problem was and still is that I cannot add sound to my email
using Windows Live Mail. The rest (fiddling with the text editor,
is irrelevant in this case.
Thanks for you kind "contribution and help" to this NG.
