I'm running a quad core intel processor. Is my system compatible with windows 7 64 bit?

It most certainly is! The only CPU Intel makes that is x86 is the Atom processor.

How much RAM do you have? What brand of motherboard?

Thanks. My computer is a dell with 3gb ram. It's running Vista now which I don't like much.

You should be able to run the 64 bit version of Windows 7 with no problems at all.

Just be sure to download all the 64 bit drivers for your Dell from their website for the particular model you have. Save them to a thumb drive, external hard drive, or burn to a CD-RW disc.

Dell driver download page doesn't list Windows 7 operating system. I'll have to put in a request for support I guess.

The Vista 64 bit drivers should work okay for you. You might check with Dell that desktop is not that old of a system.
